EVENTS:
SPOKES MODEL: This will be judged on personality and on stage presence. This is not judged on how long you speak. This is where the contestant can talk about himself or herself. Time limit of 1 ½ minutes. This is done right before Beauty.
BEAUTY: There will be no line-ups. This is judged on facial beauty, personality, poise/presentation, and eye contact with the judges. Time limit will be 1 ½ minutes on stage. There will be a Division Supreme Winner in each age group. Division Supreme Winners will receive a Beautiful Crown, Custom Sash, and a Nice Gift. Music will be provided.
CASUAL WEAR: This can be off the rack or custom made clothing that can be worn at school. You can provide your own music.
OUTFIT OF CHOICE: This is judged on presentation, personality, overall appearance, fit of outfit, creativity Time limit of 1 ½ minutes on stage. This can be patriotic wear, casual wear, custom casual wear, costumes, sportswear, swimwear or western wear. ***You may bring you own music. This can be glitz.
TALENT: (Optional) Five division winners. Contestant must have CD/Cassette cued and ready at the time of the event. You may enter more that one talent at an additional fee. Any props, mats, musical instruments, you must provide yourself.
GLITZ PHOTOGENIC: (Retouched or Enhanced) Turn in your photos at registration. Put the name & age of the contestant on the back of the photo. Photos should be no larger that 8 ½ x 11. This is judged on clarity, photogenic appeal. Additional photos are $10.00 each.
NATURAL PHOTOGENIC: Turn in your photos at registration. Put the name & age on your natural photos. This is judged on clarity, photogenic appeal and age appropriate makeup is allowed. Additional photos are $10.00 each.
COMPOSITE: Turn in your composite at registration. A composite is a collection of your favorite photos put into a collage with child’s name and stats. You can put many photos on your composite. Judges are looking for variety, presentation and photogenic appeal. Additional composites are $10.00 each.
PORTFOLIO: Turn in you portfolio at registration. Put the name & age of the contestant on the portfolio. This can be a combination of up to 12 photos. They may be a combination of headshots, full length, black and white, color. Judges are looking for a variety. This is judged on clarity, photogenic appeal and variety.
Miss Congeniality: This is a special award given to the contestant that exhibits sportsmanship, a fun attitude, and shows the ability of making friends. State Directors will select this award. This is not part of any supreme/grand overall title

Friday, May 7: 4:00-11:00 p.m. Registration (Please register early)
Saturday, May 8: Competition all day, Starting with Beauty, Spokes Model, Casual Wear,
Outfit of Choice, and ending with Talent. Party after competition
Crowning after party.
Rules
ALL Deposits are Non-Refundable If you are unable to attend for any reason, you must let us know within two days before the pageant and your fees will be credited toward the next pageant. No exceptions.
Judges Decisions are final!
Sportsmanship is a must. Parents and guests who exhibit poor sportsmanship will be banned from the ballroom. If poor sportsmanship is exhibited by a contestant then they will be disqualified. No fees, ballroom entry, hotel room, or contestant fees will be returned.

Door Admission is $20.00 for everyone. A contestant can compete as of their age of the day of the pageant or may move up one age group.
All contestant information must be accurate. Any misleading or false information may result in disqualification or loss of title.
The stage will be a “T” formation with 3 x’s in the back and 1x in the front. The contestants will enter one side of the stage and exit the other side of the stage.
You must be on time for your event. We will not wait. All events will start on time. Contestants who are late will receive a 1/10 point deduction. You will receive a schedule of each event during registration.
Registration will be Friday May 7, Starting at 4:00 p.m. Please turn in your photos, composites, and portfolios at this time. Make sure they are all labeled with contestants name and age.
Contestants photos may be used by Shining Stars Pageant Inc. for publicity purposes.
The Ultimate Grand may not compete the following year. The winner may re-compete again in the Shining Stars Pageant system after their year of rein.
Only family members and friends of contestants may enter the ballroom. For the safety of our contestants door admission badges must be worn by everyone entering the ballroom, including family and friends of the contestant.

**We will ONLY accept CASH at the pageant.
**Sibling discount: First contestant pays full price for Supreme Package, and the second contestant pays ½ price of Supreme Package. Door Badges, Extra photos, comps, ports, Ultimate Beauty or talent are full price.

By popular demand, we have decided to change the schedule of the
Shining Stars Semi-Glitz Mini Nationals and Shining Stars Natural Mini-Nationals
This is to save you all money as you won’t need to stay Friday night if you don’t want to. This will cut down on the cost of the pageant, as you only need to stay on One Night.

*Queen of Queen/King of King
The one person who refers the most contestants will become our Queen of Queen/King of King. This can be Doubled Crowned. The winner will receive a Beautiful Crown, Sash, and nice gift or trophy.
*Ms. Shining Stars
This is the one contestant that exhibits sportsmanship, a fun attitude, and shows the ability of making friends. The winner receives a Beautiful Crown. Sash, & a gift or trophy. This can be Doubled Crowned.
EVENTS:
*Beauty: Contestants can wear flower girl, Sunday best or prom dresses/gowns to compete in Beauty. Boys should wear Tuxedo, Sunday best, or an outfit suitable for a special event.
No Semi-Glitz or Full Glitz dresses. **No Big Hair, Fake Hair Pieces, Flippers, Fake Eyelashes, or Fake Nails are allowed. Under the age of 10, there can be clear lip-gloss, clear mascara, nothing else. For 10 years and older, light make up is allowed. Only what you would wear at school, etc. Tanning is allowed.
*Spokes Model/Interview Babies will be judged on personality. Contestants will be judged on personality and on stage presence. Contestant will walk up to the microphone and talk about themselves, and asked a few simple questions. This will be done during Beauty.
*Summer Wear This can be off the rack or custom made clothing that you would wear at the beach. It can be swimwear, sundress, beach wear, be creative. NO-GLITZ. You can provide your own music. **No Big Hair, Fake Hair Pieces, Flippers, Fake Eyelashes, or Fake Nails are allowed. Under the age of 10, there can be clear lip-gloss, clear mascara, nothing else. For 10 years and older, light make up is allowed. Only what you would wear at school, etc. Tanning is allowed.
*Casual Wear This can be off the rack or custom made clothing that can be worn in school, etc. NO-GLITZ. No make-up on children under the age of 10. We want to see the natural beauty of the contestant. Please turn in your photos at the time of registration. Make sure that you put the name and age of the contestant on the back of the photo. Judges are looking for clarity and photogenic appeal.
*Composite 4 or more Natural photos on an 8 x 10 sheet. Please turn in your composite at the time of registration. **No Big Hair, Fake Hair Pieces, Flippers, Fake Eyelashes, or Fake Nails are allowed. Under the age of 10, there can be clear lip-gloss, clear mascara, nothing else. This is for Beauty and Casual Wear. For 10 years and older, light make up is allowed. Only what you would wear at school, etc. Light tanning is allowed. It must not be over-done. A photographer will be taking on stage photos and a video-ographer will be taking video of the pageant. NO cameras or video equipment allowed in the ballroom.

Talent for Both Pageants: 6:30 p.m.
After competition party
All crowning will be Sunday, May 9
Crowning will begin at 10:00 a.m.
Starting with the Natural Mini-National Pageant 1st
Then the Semi-Glitz Mini-National Pageant
Crowning will be less than 2 hours for both pageants.
Last time we did this, it only took 1 hour to crown both pageants.
This way you can check out of your room in time.
